Job DescriptionPrimary
Purpose:
Chief administrator for all campuses in Manor ISD and oversees the operations, teaching, and learning as well as oversees all principals. Supervise campus leadership teams and the implementation of campus improvement plans. Incumbent is responsible for ensuring the implementation of the Board’s policies while working within the boundaries of the executive limitations. Provide direction, supervision, and review of educational programming for all campuses.
This position works to actualize the district’s vision for student success and achievement by incorporating best practice strategies and tools for innovation and the rigorous implementation of standards and effective instructional practice. Collaborate with other departments and leaders in the central office to provide and broker necessary resources and support to ensure campuses improve student achievement and academic outcomes for all students.
Supervise and support Directors and Principals in developing and sustaining systems and processes to address campus and student needs as well as to comply with local, state, and national rules, laws, and regulations, serving as a role model for all leadership responsibilities.
- Master’s degree required;
Doctoral degree is preferred - Texas administrative certification is required
- Knowledge of educational trends and goals, effective school concepts and principles, and use of research and proven best practices in education
- Knowledge of effective instruction, curriculum, special programs, resources, and site-based improvement
- Ability to facilitate group processes that lead to quality outcomes in the areas of implementation and evaluation of curriculum, instruction, and school improvement
- Ability to foster effective communication and working relationships with others in the organization, especially principals
- Knowledge and skill in the use of personal computers and commonly used software applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills and ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Five years of successful administrative experience, including either five years as a principal or three years of supervisory experience overseeing principals and two years of other administrative experience.
Duties & Responsibilities- Provide leadership, guidance, and supervision to administrators within the division and principals to increase the capacity for instructional leadership within the school community.
- Collaborate with campus principals, executive directors and directors to ensure equitable and quality implementation of district goals and standardss of service in all schools.
- Observe schools, evaluate quality of functioning and level of attainment of campus improvement goals; prepare regular status reports for the Superintendent, Deputy Superintendent, Board, and TEA as directed and required.
- Maintain a close working relationship with Principals to ensure information exchange, coordination of efforts, and general support for the decision-making process.
- Encourage teamwork, collaboration, and partnerships among schools to develop and accomplish common goals aligned with District priorities and strategies.
- Work actively with principals to ensure students are prepared for success with a smooth transition from elementary school to middle school and middle school to high school.
- Provide leadership and coordination for the District’s curriculum alignment initiatives; work to promote systems of alignment that ensure curriculum, teaching materials, assessment, and staff development are linked throughout the PK-12 grade levels.
