Teachers

Teachers must have, or be currently working towards, a CDA, a bachelor's degree in education or a related field, OR have a minimum of three years experience in early childhood education.

• Treat all children with dignity and respect
• Develop and implement individually designed programs
• Plan and coordinate transitioning to the next classroom
• Supervise teacher and classroom assistants
• Supervise the classroom and ensure the health and safety of each child
• Plan and follow a daily schedule and daily activities
• Maintain an organized, attractive, and developmentally appropriate learning environment
• Maintain appropriate interactions with families
• Attend conferences and in-service training
• Maintain knowledge of, and compliance with, all school policies

Teaching assistants must have a high school diploma. A CDA is preferred. It is also recommended that the individual have experience in working with young children.

• Assist the teacher in providing instruction to the children on an individual level as well as in large and small groups
• Assist the teacher in planning and preparing materials for daily instruction
• Supervise the classroom and ensure the healthy and safety of each child
• Maintain a clean and safe learning environment
• Interact appropriately with professionals and families
• Function as a team and maintain a professional attitude
• Participate in in-service and attending conferences
• Maintain knowledge of, and compliance with, all school policies

All employees and substitutes must maintain up to date fingerprints on file with the state of Texas and will be required to pass a full criminal background check.
