Position Details
  • Title: Bilingual Educational Diagnostician
  • Location: Manor, TX
  • Duration:
    • Start Date: October 8, 2026
    • End Date: May 28, 2027
  • Onsite/Virtual: Onsite
  • Position Type: Contract
  • Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, from Monday to Friday
  • Student Age Group: District-wide (may be assigned to one or multiple campuses)
Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive bilingual evaluations in English and another language (Spanish preferred).
  • Assess cognitive abilities, academic achievement, language development, learning disabilities, and processing disorders.
  • Differentiate language acquisition needs from learning disabilities.
  • Administer, score, and interpret standardized assessment instruments.
  • Prepare comprehensive Full and Individual Evaluation (FIE) reports.
  • Determine eligibility for special education services.
  • Participate in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings.
  • Assist with the development and review of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Communicate evaluation findings and recommendations to families, preferably in their native language.
  • Collaborate with special education teachers, general education staff, Licensed Specialists in School Psychology (LSSPs), Speech-Language Pathologists, administrators, and families.
  • Maintain compliance with IDEA, TEA regulations, and district policies.
  • Maintain accurate evaluation records, timelines, and required documentation.
  • Provide instructional recommendations based on assessment results.
  • Support campus staff in interpreting assessment data and implementing appropriate interventions.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Educational Diagnostician, Special Education, School Psychology, or a related field.
  • Valid Texas Educational Diagnostician certification.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and another language (Spanish strongly preferred).
  • Knowledge of bilingual assessment practices and culturally responsive evaluations.
  • Strong understanding of IDEA, TEA regulations, ARD, and IEP processes.
  • Experience administering and interpreting standardized educational assessments.
  • Previous experience serving bilingual or multilingual student populations.
  • Strong report writing and data analysis skills.
  • Training in culturally and linguistically appropriate assessment practices.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
