Qualifications- 1-3+ years of buyer, procurement, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of inventory management, MRP, and ERP systems (Visual or similar preferred)
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build effective supplier partnerships
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Ability to read engineering drawings preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
- APICS/NAPM certification is a plus
- Purchase and expedite materials, components, equipment, and services from approved suppliers
- Review requisitions and MRP demand to ensure accuracy, completeness, and on-time fulfillment
- Obtain supplier quotes, evaluate bids, and award purchase orders
- Manage supplier relationships and maintain current supply sources
- Coordinate purchasing activity with engineering, manufacturing, and planning teams
- Monitor cost, schedule, and quality to achieve best value purchasing decisions
- Track purchase order dispatch reports to ensure on-time delivery per MRP requirements
- Participate in supplier performance and reliability evaluations
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, and vendor returns as needed
- Update lead times and planning parameters to reflect supply base and usage changes
