Repair and Tool Technician

Overview

Repair and Tool Technician role at The Home Depot. Responsible for evaluation and repair of small engines, outdoor power equipment and handheld electrical devices. This position makes equipment recommendations and ensures that units are maintained. Technicians work in Tool Rental Centers and in repair centers. In-store duties include servicing Tool Rental customers, writing customer contracts and invoices for equipment rental and repairs, verifying tool operation, and demonstrating proper use as needed.

• Provide repair and maintenance for small engines, outdoor power equipment, and handheld electrical devices.
• Evaluate equipment and make recommendations; ensure units are maintained and operate correctly.
• In-store Tool Rental Center duties: assist customers, prepare contracts and invoices for rental and repairs, verify tool functionality, demonstrate proper use when needed.
• Operate and maintain equipment in the Tool Rental department; manage inventory and repair tools as necessary.
• In non-store locations, ensure units are repaired, tested for quality, cleaned, and returned to originating store.

• Thorough knowledge of tools and repair processes.
• Ability to manage tool inventory and coordinate repairs.
• Willingness to work in both store and repair center environments.
