UCT is looking for a talented CNC Technician II to join us in Austin, TX! The CNC operator will have knowledge of cutter operation and procedures along with a good mechanical aptitude with experience in operation, troubleshooting and maintenance of production equipment. They will have the ability to read measuring devices and calculate fractions, be able to read and follow directions and be able to work independently with minimal direction.
This position requires the operator to be accurate and precise, able to stand for entire shift and possess good interpersonal skills. Basic math skills are a minimum requirement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for performing preventative maintenance, including changing blades.
- Read and understand work orders, layouts and other project details. Use project information to ensure product is produced according to required specifications.
- Perform quality checks according to established procedures to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Monitor machine efficiencies & speed to ensure production levels meet or exceed standards. Adjust as needed.
- Complete data collection entries and report to inventory coordinator material usage per project.
- Troubleshoot issues that may arise.
- Responsible for the overall safety and cleanliness of equipment and surrounding area.
- Work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Responsible for completing log for maintenance requests, material usage, hold/waste and recycled material logs.
- Ability to work shifts and overtime when required.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
:
- CNC Cutting/Router machine operator:
Minimum of 1-2 years' experience - Operators must have the ability to work well with others while handling internal pressures.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Organizational and problem-solving skills required.
- Basic math skills.
- Good mechanical aptitude.
- Attention to the details.
- Ability to read and understand drawings including geometric dimensioning and tolerances, preferred.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
Work Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years' experience working as a CNC Operator or with similar heavy manufacturing machining equipment.
