Education Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Completion of a CNC Machining, Manufacturing Technology, or related technical training program preferred.
- Strong understanding of algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and manufacturing fundamentals.
Experience Requirements
- 6 months to 4 years of experience operating CNC mills, CNC lathes, or other precision machining equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience reading blueprints, engineering drawings, material specifications, and GD&T requirements.
- Basic knowledge of CNC programming, tool offsets, machine setup, and CAD/CAM software preferred.
Physical Capabilities
- Ability to stand, walk, and work on a manufacturing floor for extended periods.
- Capable of lifting, loading, and handling raw materials, tooling, and machine components.
- Able to perform repetitive movements and safely operate machinery in a fast-paced production environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
Job Duties
- Set up, program, and operate CNC mills and lathes for production machining.
- Configure tooling, fixtures, chucks, vises, collets, and machine accessories.
- Review work orders, blueprints, and engineering specifications to determine machining requirements.
- Load materials, establish machine offsets, and verify first-piece quality inspections.
- Perform drilling, turning, cutting, threading, grooving, facing, and other machining operations.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools to ensure compliance with specifications and tolerances.
- Troubleshoot machining issues, adjust machine settings, maintain tooling, and perform preventive maintenance.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, productivity, on-time delivery, and cost reduction while following all safety and quality standards.
