About

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Plumber to join our production team. In this role, you will perform plumbing work required in the modification of shipping container-based structures. You may also assist with carpentry, welding, electrical tasks, or general clean-up as part of our team-based approach. In addition, you may serve as an Assistant Team Lead, supporting and coaching less experienced team members.

Work Schedule

Standard shift hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:45 PM, with overtime regularly required and occasional weekend assignments.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Install pipes and fixtures such as sinks, toilets, and other equipment for water, gas, steam, air, or other liquids.
  • Install supports for pipes, equipment, and fixtures prior to installation.
  • Assemble fittings and valves for installation.
  • Modify length of pipes, fixtures, and plumbing materials as needed.
  • Use saws, pipe cutters, and other tools as required.
  • Install water heaters and other plumbing-related systems.
  • Collaborate with others on plumbing installations.
  • Test plumbing systems for leaks and operational issues.
  • Analyze problems, identify solutions, and select appropriate tools and materials.
  • Follow Falcon Structures’ policies, health and safety standards, and comply with applicable codes.
  • Attend monthly safety classes.
  • Accurately charge time to the correct projects.
  • Instruct and coach less experienced plumbers.
  • Assist team lead as needed.
Skills & Abilities
  • 4–6 years of plumbing experience.
  • Strong understanding of water distribution and disposal systems, preferably in modular structures.
  • Knowledge of heating, ventilation, and plumbing-related appliances.
  • HVAC Experience desired, not required.
  • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings.
  • Proficiency with plumbing tools and equipment (pipe wrenches, cutters, plungers, etc.).
  • Knowledge of different pipe types and fixtures, including PVC and cast iron.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Team-oriented, friendly, and collaborative.
  • Critical thinker with strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Safety-conscious, reliable, and eager to learn.
  • Physically capable of performing manual labor in awkward spaces.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Plumbing license/certification preferred but not required.
  • Lives in the greater Austin area and can work on-site daily, including weekends as needed.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to see hazards and dangers in the work environment.
  • Hearing and speaking to exchange information.
  • Ability to read and write English to review project plans.
  • Manual dexterity to handle tools and perform plumbing tasks.
  • Ability to climb ladders of varying heights.
  • Ability to kneel, bend, and work in crawl spaces for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
