Mansfield Elementary School (Grades PreK-4) Teacher, Special Education

Knowledge of Special Education principles, theories, testing, methods, curriculum/Common Core standard, etc. as well as proven methods of maximizing the educational experience of students with special needs. Qualified applicants must hold or be eligible for Connecticut certification in special education.

Other skills:

• Public school experience with students displaying social/emotional/behavioral needs.
• Experience in behavior management (development of and implementation of behavior plans).
• Ability to analyze data.
• Demonstrates proficiency with wide range of programs and technologies.
• Desire to work in a structured and supported classroom.
• Collaborative working style.
• Ability to communicate ideas and directives clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Effective, active listening skills.
• Organizational and problem solving skills.
• Specialized reading instruction skills preferred.
