Substitute School Nurse

E.O. Smith High School is seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, and thoughtful individual who can contribute to our school's diversity through their teaching, scholarship, and/or service to the institution. The substitute school nurse will provide one-to-one nursing support to students in our district.

Special Services

Qualifications:

  • Holds a valid LPN or RN license from the State Department of Health Services to practice professional nursing
  • Possess the ability to relate to children with special needs
  • Possess qualities and personal characteristics necessary to work effectively with all stakeholders
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid

Licensed Practical Nurse Responsibilities:

  • Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures
  • Follows medical/emergency protocols and training
  • Certification in CPR/AED and First Aid
  • Conducts student health assessments
  • Implements health care plans and oversees medical charts
  • Collaborates with families, school nurses, and school staff
  • Communicates with parents and staff regarding health needs
  • Provides consultation in educational settings regarding school health needs
  • Administers medications within the scope of District policies and state and federal laws
  • Assists with the instructional needs of students as needed

Salary: LPN $28 per hour; RN $37 per hour
