Position: MIcrobiologist (Short Term Contract)
Kelly Science & Clinical is seeking a Microbiologist for a short term contract to assist client located in Storrs, CT with research and development of microneedle-based therapies targeting bacterial skin infections.

** Position will require individual to work at the Grafton, MA site for 2 weeks during 6-8 week contract*
* Pay expectations: $25/hour

Shift: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

Full Time; 6-8 week contract

Key Responsibilities

+ Culture and characterize bacterial strains; develop and perform antimicrobial, biofilm, and molecular (PCR/qPCR) assays

+ Evaluate and prepare microneedle therapeutics and formulations; assist with ex vivo skin and infection models

+ Maintain accurate records, analyze data, prepare summaries/reports, and support technical documentation

+ Participate in experiment planning, troubleshooting, and ensure lab safety procedures are followed

Required Qualifications

+ Bachelor's or Master's in microbiology, biology, biotechnology, or related field

+ Hands-on lab experience with bacterial culture, aseptic technique, and quantitative assays

+ Strong organizational, record-keeping, and problem-solving skills; able to work independently and in a team

+ Willingness to work with experimental animals

Preferred Qualifications

+

Experience with Staphylococcus aureus/MRSA and biofilm assays

+ Antimicrobial susceptibility or bactericidal assay experience

+ Skills in molecular techniques (PCR/qPCR)

+ Background in tissue culture or animal models

+ Knowledge of topical antimicrobials, microneedles, or drug delivery

+ Familiarity with statistical analysis and industry or biotech research
