The Bookkeeper is responsible for supporting the agency’s accounting and financial operations. This role ensures the accurate processing of invoices, payments, carrier payables, and receivables while maintaining compliance with insurance accounting procedures. The position works closely with the accounting team, producers, and service staff to ensure timely and accurate financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and record agency bill and direct bill transactions.
  • Reconcile insurance carrier statements and accounts.
  • Process refunds and adjustments.
  • Prepare and process accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Assist with daily deposits and bank reconciliations.
  • Maintain accurate financial records in the agency management system.
  • Assist with month-end accounting procedures and reporting.
  • Address billing discrepancies with carriers or internal staff.
  • Work with account managers and producers to resolve accounting-related questions.
Administrative Accounting Support
  • Maintain organized accounting files and documentation.
  • Assist with audits and compliance requests from carriers or regulators.
  • Prepare reports as requested by management.
  • Support the accounting department with special projects and process improvements.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 1–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred.
  • Experience in insurance accounting or AMS
    360 is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

THIS ROLE IS PART TIME 25 HOURS PER WEEK
