The Benefits Manager reports to the Chief People & Culture Officer and is responsible for the overall strategy, administration, compliance, and financial management of NEXDINE's benefits programs. This role leads the benefits function, ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and a high-quality colleague experience.
This position requires the ability to operate both strategically and tactically, effectively working across all levels of the organization while maintaining strong controls and oversight.
Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and manage the organization's benefits strategy aligned with business objectives
- Partner with leadership to provide insights, recommendations, and cost modeling
- Support vendor selection, negotiation, and ongoing performance management
Operations Oversight
- Oversee all benefits administration processes and team performance
- Ensure accurate and timely execution of enrollments, life events, and terminations
- Lead Open Enrollment strategy, communication, and execution
Workday Ownership
- Serve as the functional owner of Benefits within Workday
- Ensure data integrity across HRIS, payroll, and vendor systems
- Partner with IT, Payroll, and Finance on integrations, enhancements, and system governance
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and applicable state regulations
- Oversee audits, filings, and reporting requirements
- Establish and maintain strong internal controls and validation processes
Financial Stewardship
- Manage benefits budgeting, forecasting, and cost control strategies
- Oversee carrier invoice reconciliation processes and financial accuracy
- Support and partner with Finance to ensure accurate reporting, accruals, and funding
Leave of Absence Support
- Support administration of Leave of Absence programs, including tracking, documentation, and coordination with vendors
- Maintain accurate leave data in Workday and ensure timely updates
- Assist with leave-related inquiries and escalate complex cases to the Benefits Manager
- Support compliance documentation and audit readiness
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop Benefits team members
- Establish clear roles, accountability, and performance expectations
- Provide hands-on support as needed in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Skills/Aptitude:
- Strong strategic and operational leadership capabilities
- Deep knowledge of benefits compliance and regulatory requirements
- Strong financial acumen and analytical capability
- Excellent communication and strong leadership presence
- Ability to lead through complexity and drive process improvement
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Advanced Workday Benefits experience required
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or related field, or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of progressive benefits experience, including leadership responsibility
- Proven experience managing vendors, compliance, and benefits strategy
- Experience in multi-site, service-based, or hospitality environments preferred
