Welder

Responsibilities

• Join, fabricate, and repair metal and other weldable materials using appropriate welding techniques and equipment
• Interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams, and schematics to determine correct welding processes
• Inspect completed welds to ensure structural soundness and quality
• Set up and prepare components for welding according to specifications
• Operate angle grinders and other tools to prepare parts for welding
• Align components using calipers, rulers, and measuring tools; clamp pieces securely
• Perform welding in various positions (vertical, horizontal, and overhead) using manual or semi-automatic equipment
• Repair machinery and components by welding parts and filling gaps
• Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to identify defects or inconsistencies
• Maintain welding equipment and work areas in a condition that meets all safety standards
• Successfully pass Welder Qualification examinations in accordance with ASME B&PV Code Sec. IX

You are an experienced professional who takes pride and satisfaction from executing in a safe manner and producing quality work.

• Minimum of 5 years of welding experience
• GED or high school diploma required
• Required welding experience includes:
  • Welding carbon and stainless steel using SMAW (Stick) and GTAW (TIG) processes
  • Full penetration pipe welding, including standard and dissimilar materials
  • GTAW Hardface overlay with Stellite or similar materials
  • Casting repair welding
• Ability to read and interpret weld symbols, technical documents, blueprints, and drawings
• Candidates must be willing to demonstrate welding ability prior to employment

• Preferred welding experience includes:
  • Dissimilar metals in common joint configurations
  • Thin-wall materials (e.g., bellows assemblies)
  • CuNi and other non-ferrous valve materials using SMAW and GTAW
• Professional certification preferred (e.g., AWS welding certification)

Salary range: $34.69 to $37.57 hourly.
