Job Responsibilities
- Join, fabricate, and repair metal and other weldable materials using appropriate welding techniques and equipment
- Interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams, and schematics to determine correct welding processes
- Inspect completed welds to ensure structural soundness and quality
- Set up and prepare components for welding according to specifications
- Operate angle grinders and other tools to prepare parts for welding
- Align components using calipers, rulers, and measuring tools; clamp pieces securely
- Perform welding in various positions (vertical, horizontal, and overhead) using manual or semi-automatic equipment
- Repair machinery and components by welding parts and filling gaps
- Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to identify defects or inconsistencies
- Maintain welding equipment and work areas in a condition that meets all safety standards
- Successfully pass Welder Qualification examinations in accordance with ASME B&PV Code Sec. IX
You are an experienced professional who takes pride and satisfaction from executing in a safe manner and producing quality work.
Qualifications- Minimum of 5 years of welding experience
- GED or high school diploma required
- Required welding experience includes:
- Welding carbon and stainless steel using SMAW (Stick) and GTAW (TIG) processes
- Full penetration pipe welding, including standard and dissimilar materials
- GTAW Hardface overlay with Stellite or similar materials
- Casting repair welding
- Ability to read and interpret weld symbols, technical documents, blueprints, and drawings
- Candidates must be willing to demonstrate welding ability prior to employment
- Preferred welding experience includes:
- Dissimilar metals in common joint configurations
- Thin‑wall materials (e.g., bellows assemblies)
- CuNi and other non‑ferrous valve materials using SMAW and GTAW
- Professional certification preferred (e.g., AWS welding certification)
The total target compensation range for this position is $34.69 to $37.57 hourly.
LocationMansfield, Massachusetts.
