Position OverviewSt. Peter’s School is seeking a faith-filled Theology Teacher to teach theology courses for students potentially ranging from grades 7-11. This position will begin immediately for the remainder of the current school year and continue as a full-time role for the 2026–2027 academic year.
The theology teacher will be a member of the theology department, working closely with fellow middle and high school theology teachers as well as the School Chaplain to support academic instruction and faith formation across campus. The ideal candidate is a practicing Catholic who is passionate about teaching, mentoring adolescents, and contributing to a Catholic school community.
Primary Responsibilities- Teach theology courses aligned with diocesan and school curriculum standards for middle and high school students
- Foster student understanding of Catholic doctrine, Scripture, Church history, and moral theology
- Collaborate with fellow theology teachers and the School Chaplain to support liturgies, retreats, and faith formation initiatives
- Integrate faith into classroom instruction and school culture
- Support student spiritual development through mentorship and participation in campus ministry activities
- Collaborate with faculty, administration, and families to support student growth
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events
- Practicing Catholic committed to the teachings and mission of the Catholic Church
- Strong interest in educating and mentoring adolescents
- Prior experience teaching middle school and/or high school students preferred, but not required
- Must hold a current Ohio teaching license or possess a bachelor’s degree with a willingness to obtain required teaching certification
- Must successfully complete FBI and BCI background checks and the Diocese of Toledo VIRTUS program
- Salary Range: $32,000–$36,000, commensurate with experience
