Compensation: $26.73 per hour

Responsibilities- Provides instruction in basic education needs (reading, writing, mathematics)
- Assesses educational needs of inmates
- Develops lesson plans to address those needs, including individual assignments and training
- Provides instruction and individual assistance
- Administers, scores, and interprets examinations and proficiency indicators
- Maintains discipline and/or security
- Counsels students concerning performance, behavior, and/or personal problems
- Attends meetings as required
- Prepares required records and reports (e.g., enrollment, grades, student progress)
- Inventories and orders supplies and materials needed
- Researches, selects, and recommends new teaching materials
- Attends in-service training sessions and workshops for professional development
- Performs other duties as assigned
Current Teacher Certificate appropriate for grade level and area of specialization. Must also have a baccalaureate degree or less.
