PrimaryJob Functions:
As a member of the faculty, the Theology Instructor will be responsible for teaching Catholic theology classes as assigned by the Head of School.
- Work in cooperation with the school Chaplain
- Have considerable knowledge of Catholic theology and a passion for teaching young people.
- Develop and implement the curriculum in accordance with the standards set forth by the Diocese of Toledo and the Ohio Department of Education.
- Provide outstanding and engaging instruction to students.
- Maintain a safe and effective learning environment
- Monitor students and complete other school-related responsibilities as assigned by the Chaplain and/or Head of School.
- Maintain accurate records and effectively communicate progress with students, parents, and school administrators.
Qualified candidates will be practicing Catholics who hold to the teaching of the Catholic Church, with a good understanding of the Catholic theology, and a strong interest in educating young people in the teachings, history, and practices of the Catholic Church. Prior experience teaching similarly aged students is preferred, but not required. All candidates should hold a current Ohio teaching license OR have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in theology, biblical studies, or religious studies.
Candidate must also be able to pass FBI and BCI background checks and complete the Diocese of Toledo in Ohio VIRTUS program.
This position is a full-time, salaried position with a 12-month contract including options for annual renewals. Salary will be commensurate with experience. Competitive benefits are offered to all full-time employees.
