There is a Personalized Learning Center Teacher position open at Mansfield Senior High School for the  school year.

Primary Purpose of Position

To coordinate and oversee the operation of the Personalized Learning Center and Credit Recovery Program while supporting students in achieving graduation requirements through flexible, individualized learning opportunities. The teacher will collaborate with administrators, counselors, teachers, students, families, and community partners to ensure students remain on track toward graduation, career readiness, and postsecondary success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Student Support & Academic Coordination

? Assist students in achieving short- and long-term educational goals through personalized

learning plans.

? Monitor and supervise learning situations in which students receive instruction through credit

recovery, original credit online courses, flex credit, CCP, work-based learning, and embedded

academic coursework.

? Encourage students through positive relationship-building and individualized support to

maximize academic success.

? Evaluate student progress, maintain accurate attendance records, issue grades and reports, and

communicate progress updates to students and parents.

? Confer regularly with students, parents, counselors, and teachers regarding academic

performance, attendance, pacing, and graduation progress.

? Coordinate and monitor individualized credit attainment plans including flex credit, online

coursework, test-outs, and embedded academic credit opportunities.

Personalized Learning Center Leadership

? Oversee daily operations of the Personalized Learning Center (PLC), including supervision of

students utilizing flexible learning pathways and online instructional platforms.

? Facilitate collaboration between academic departments, Career Technical Education (CTE)

instructors, counselors, and administration to ensure alignment of curriculum, standards, and

best practices.

? Assist in the development and implementation of embedded academic courses connected to

CTE programming. Examples include integrating Algebra II into Advanced Manufacturing,

Chemistry into Culinary Arts, and Communications into Interactive Media.

? Support implementation of College Credit Plus (CCP), Work-Based Learning (WBL), and

career-focused academic opportunities.

? Coordinate enrollment of students into credit recovery and online courseware programs.

? Monitor student attendance, engagement, pacing, and completion within the PLC environment.

Program Development & Collaboration

? Participate in curricular and program development activities with administrators, counselors,

department chairs, and teachers to improve student learning opportunities.

? Assist in the creation and ongoing revision of credit flexibility plans and online curriculum.

? Coordinate training and professional development related to credit recovery software,

personalized learning practices, and PLC procedures.

? Collaborate with counselors to update course guide descriptions and ensure student scheduling

and transcript accuracy.

? Serve as a liaison between families, staff, and administration regarding PLC participation and

student progress.

? Maintain compliance with district policies, Ohio Department of Education and Workforce

guidelines, and credit flexibility requirements.

Supervision & Operational Responsibilities

? Supervise approved helpers, student aides, and PLC learning environments.

? Address discipline concerns within the PLC and coordinate parent conferences as needed.

? Monitor implementation of PLC expectations related to professionalism, attendance, technology

usage, and academic integrity.

? Perform additional duties as assigned by the Principal or designee.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

? Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively relate to students,

parents, staff, administrators, and community stakeholders.

? Ability to build collaborative working relationships and resolve conflict effectively.

? Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple

responsibilities.

? Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

? Highly developed technology skills, including proficiency with online learning platforms, student

information systems, and digital communication tools.

? Knowledge of credit recovery, credit flexibility, online learning, and competency-based

educational practices preferred.
