Chemistry Lecturer (9M) Mansfield Campus
The Ohio State University at Mansfield invites applications for Chemistry Lecturer position starting in August 2026. We seek a dedicated instructor committed to high-quality undergraduate teaching and student success. Courses may include Organic Chemistry, General Chemistry, laboratory sections, or other offerings depending on departmental needs and candidate expertise.
This full-time instructional position supports OSU Mansfield's mission of providing accessible, affordable, and student-centered education to a diverse population, including many first-generation, commuter, and pre-health students.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality instruction in assigned undergraduate Chemistry courses (lecture and/or laboratory)
- Prepare course materials, assessments, and syllabi aligned with departmental standards
- Provide timely, constructive feedback to students
- Maintain regular communication and hold office hours (in-person or virtual) to support student learning
- Manage laboratory environments, including overview of laboratory staff, emphasize safety protocols and proper chemical handling.
- Foster a supportive classroom environment
- Collaborate with full-time faculty and staff as needed to support student learning and ensure curriculum alignment across sections.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a closely related field
- Demonstrated ability or strong potential to teach undergraduate students effectively
- Commitment to pedagogy and supporting diverse learners
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. in a chemistry-related discipline
- Prior experience teaching Organic Chemistry, General Chemistry, or laboratory courses at the college level.
- Familiarity with active-learning or student-centered instructional approaches
- Experience teaching or mentoring first-generation, non-traditional, or pre-health students
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) like Canvas or Blackboard
