Provide intensive instruction to elementary‑grade students who are struggling in reading, writing and/or math in compliance with the Student Support Programs.
Qualifications- Completed the required Science of Reading professional development learning modules.
- Reading endorsement, Master’s Degree, or Doctoral Degree in Reading, and passing score on the Reading Instruction Test (Foundations of Reading 190), preferred.
- Accredited college/university degree.
- Valid Ohio licensure and/or certification (substitute licensure not accepted).
- Currently trained in Wilson Reading System or willingness to obtain training (training paid by district).
- Valid Ohio Reading K-12 endorsement preferred.
- Select students for intervention using district assessments, and inform teachers and parents of identified students.
- Be familiar with administration and interpretation of state‑mandated testing in reading and math; use data to analyze student achievement.
- Maintain necessary records throughout the school year and assemble information for the annual state review.
- Work closely with classroom teachers, building administrators, and other support personnel.
- Communicate effectively with parents during conferences and other contacts as needed.
- Coordinate reading and math interventions with Ohio State Standards.
- Be aware of current supplementary reading/math materials and supplies appropriate for intervention and classroom use.
- Maintain a professional awareness of effective reading and math practices by participating in ongoing professional development, grade‑level team meetings, professional organizations, conferences, coursework, and professional journals.
- Maintain appropriate student discipline and create a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning.
- Prepare daily lesson plans describing learning targets and activities that directly relate to Ohio State Standards, program requirements, and student achievement.
- Serve as a resource person for literacy/math in the assigned building(s).
- Perform an equitable amount of building duties.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding student information.
- Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by the building principal or program supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Knowledge of current teaching methods, educational pedagogy, and differentiated instruction based on student learning styles.
- Knowledge of English grammar, word usage, word denotations and connotations, spelling, literature, and other content areas taught.
- Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis, and formulation of action plans.
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
- Ability to use computer network systems and software applications as needed.
- Ability to organize and coordinate work.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
- Ability to engage in self‑evaluation for performance and professional growth.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others in the course of work.
