• Develops lesson plans to address student needs, including individualized training for assignments
• Provides instruction for Adult Basic Education/General Education Development (GED) program
• Administers tests
• Evaluates inmates and provides direction for their learning
• Maintains discipline and/or security of instructional area
• Attends education meetings, unit staff meetings and in-service training
• prepares required records and reports
• Maintains inventory and orders supplies and materials needed
• Performs other education and related duties as requested by education administrators
• Performs other duties as required on assignment

Applicants who possess a Baccalaureate degree and an Adult Educator four-year permit and/or are eligible to receive a four-year permit from the Ohio Department of Education may be considered. Current Teacher Certificate appropriate to the assigned grade level (Teacher 1, 71721) with a baccalaureate degree or equivalent is required.

Drug Testing:

Final applicant will undergo a criminal background check. An assessment of prior criminal convictions will be made before excluding an applicant from consideration.
