What You’ll Do
  • Complete detailed screens, mental health evaluations, and crisis services, including suicide watch assessments, within your scope of practice.
  • Provide clinical direction to lower level workers.
  • May serve as treatment team coordinator.
  • Conduct advanced practice individual and group clinical interventions as prescribed on the individual mental health treatment plan.
  • Provide clinical case management services to an assigned caseload, monitoring offender compliance with the mental health treatment plan.
  • Complete psychosocial needs and treatment assessments as part of interdisciplinary treatment planning.
  • Complete transfer and discharge summaries.
  • Consult with other institution staff regarding institutional adjustment and service needs of inmates.
  • Initiate and maintain contact with families and community agencies.
  • Seek and provide information related to patient care and treatment.
  • Make appropriate community and re‑entry referrals per mental health treatment team.
  • Write reports and documentation, including all inmate contacts, clinical case management progress notes, discharge plans, and miscellaneous forms as required.
  • Attend meetings with supervision.
  • Attend in‑service training sessions and workshops for professional development.
  • Participate in peer review as assigned.

Qualifications

Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) by the Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board, or

  • Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) by the Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board, or
  • Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (MFT) by the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board.
