Production Manager

General

Summary:

The Production Manager assists in leading the shop fabrication team to meet production schedules, goals, and needs of the company. They will be responsible for interacting with multiple aspects of the business on a day-to-day basis to ensure efficiency and collaboration.

Primary

Job Responsibilities
  • Be the daily liaison between shop employees, management, HR & Safety
  • Responsible for bringing on new talent and reviewing performance
  • Work with developing and training new employees
  • Assist with load planning and coordination between the shop, purchasing, project managers, yard personnel and shipping to meet project schedule & delivery needs
  • Help maintain production schedule & track projects progress through the shop
  • Utilize the employees and equipment as necessary to maintain production schedule
  • Be consistent with proper AISC documentation and shop training
  • Review shop drawings and assist employees with questions & inspections
  • Implement Tekla and other software as necessary
  • Schedule yearly inspections and preventive maintenance
  • Other duties as assigned
    • Desired Qualifications/Skills
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Applicable work experience & fabrication experience required
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Ability to conceptualize abstract or incomplete ideas
  • High attention to detail
  • Experience using a computer (Microsoft Suite, Bluebeam, CAD, Pro Nest, Peddimat Vista by Viewpoint a plus)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Time management and ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines

    Self-starter with good work ethic and dependability
  • Structural steel knowledge
