The Neuro Intensivist Advanced Practitioner Provider (APP) is a certified, licensed nurse practitioner or physician assistant who independently and collaboratively works with the multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to acutely ill and/or medically complex patients in the neuro‑intensive care unit. The team includes dedicated EEG services, inpatient neurology consultants, and fellowship trained neuro‑intensivist physicians who work closely with neurosurgery and neuro‑interventional teams.
Job Requirements- Board certified and licensed Adult‑Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant/Associate.
- National Provider Identifier (NPI) obtained prior to employment, meeting current Medicare billing requirements.
- Current DEA registration with schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4, and 5 and state‑issued prescribing authority.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Emergency Neurological Life Support (ENLS).
- Preferred experience of at least one year in the neuro‑critical care setting as an NP or PA, or neuro‑ICU experience as an RN.
- Night shift
- Some weekend nights required
- Some on‑call shifts required
- Full time
- Procedure proctoring available if needed
