Position: Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse plans, coordinates, and provides total nursing care for residents, and provides supervision and guidance to clinical staff members.

Qualifications
  • Education: Graduate of accredited RN School of Nursing.
  • Licenses/Certification: Valid RN license in the state; CPR certification.
  • Experience: One year of nursing experience preferred.
Job Functions
  • Initiate and lead team conferences in developing individualized nursing care plans.
  • Assess and document resident condition and nursing needs.
  • Implement physicians’ orders accurately and promptly.
  • Assign nursing care to team members based on resident needs and staff qualifications.
  • Supervise, direct and evaluate LPNs, LVNs, and CNAs.
  • Administer medications, start IVs and perform treatments, document as required by company and regulations.
  • Participate in orientation and in‑service training for personnel.
  • Assist physicians with special tests and procedures within scope.
  • Ensure economic utilization of supplies and safe maintenance of equipment.
  • Report and record observations and reactions regarding residents.
  • Coordinate nursing care during therapy or procedures by other departments.
  • Interview applicants, recommend hires, assist in counseling, disciplinary action, and termination as permitted by state practice act.
  • Supervise nursing unit, scheduling, and directing staff as permitted.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

  • Knowledge of training techniques for clinical staff.
