State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA)

Summary

The State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA), under supervision, provides basic nursing assistance and helps residents with daily living activities.

Responsibilities

Answer signal lights and bells to determine resident needs.

Assist residents with grooming, oral hygiene, bathing, hair care, and incontinence care.

Obtain and deliver food trays and assist residents with feeding.

Assist residents with range-of-motion exercises and movement to wheelchairs or activity areas.

Turn and position residents in bed and assist with ambulation for short distances within the facility.

Take and record temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates, and monitor food and fluid intake and output as directed.

Perform other assigned tasks as requested.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Licenses/Certification: Valid CNA certification in the state of employment.
Experience: Six months of long-term care experience preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

Starting wages: $17.50–$24.50 per hour.
