Primary Responsibilities
- Execute and promote products aligned to sales strategy in the assigned territory.
- Collaborate with the District Sales Manager on day-to-day sales and product promotion direction.
- Analyze the local market; develop, execute, and monitor performance to maximize product use in the territory.
- Maintain current knowledge of products, disease, competition, and market reimbursement.
- Determine, implement, and monitor optimal resource allocation (budgets, time, etc.).
- Use advanced selling and negotiation skills to communicate persuasively with target audiences.
- Identify, build, and leverage advocacy channels.
- Secure product access and reimbursement within institutional systems as needed.
- Manage travel and promotional budget.
- Complete monitoring and reporting requirements (expenses and call reporting) using approved systems.
- Maintain compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Meet credentialing requirements for healthcare providers/customer facilities/state/local governments.
- Additional ad-hoc projects as needed.
- BS/BA with GPA > 3.0.
- Minimum 3 years pharmaceutical sales experience preferred; those not meeting requirements may be considered for “Associate.”
- Atypical anti-psychotic and/or orphan drug experience preferred.
- Preferred specialty experience in psychiatry, bipolar, depression, CNS, or pain management.
- Reimbursement experience preferred.
- Existing relationships (or within 24 months) with psychiatrists and/or Community Mental Health Centers in the territory preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving history.
- Self-starter; goal/results driven.
- “Hunter” mentality; strong territory relationships/knowledge.
- Ability to travel (including overnights) and work outside normal hours; must reside within territory geography.
- Goal/results driven; clinical, patient-centric; strong interpersonal/verbal/written communication.
- Ability to navigate complex organizations; strong work ethic/organization; manage multiple priorities.
- Customer-focused, self-motivated, computer proficient.
