Summary:
The Carpenter will provide professional services while constructing, repairing building frameworks and structures, and interior finishing with a focus on details.
Primary
Job Responsibilities:
- Installs doors, frames and hardware
- Forms and pours concrete
- Lays out and frames walls with wood or metal studs
- Hangs and finishes drywall
- Installs wall protection including FRP board, crash rails, corner guards, etc.
- Installs acoustic ceilings
- Installs cabinets, trim and other finish carpentry
- Lays out and installs in-wall blocking
- Installs roof blocking
- Hangs toilet partitions and installs restroom accessories
- Adheres to the company's safety policies to create a safe work environment
- Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
Adena
- Commercial Carpenter
Desired Qualifications/Skills:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 5+ years of carpenter experience
- Sufficient education or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training that provides the desired knowledge, skills and characteristics to perform carpenter duties
- 10 Hour OSHA Certification or willingness to obtain within ninety (90) days of employment
- Ability to read building blueprints
- Ability to utilize pertinent math skills
- Good knowledge of methods, materials, tools and equipment along with safe use of the same
- Must maintain a valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Must be willing and able to travel to jobsites which may at times require overnight stays away from home
- Ability to work at heights without fear including work on scaffolding and ladders
- Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
- Must have a good work ethic, and the ability to understand and carry out written or verbal instructions
- Ability to perform on a regular basis in outside weather conditions consisting of wet, hot, humid and/or freezing temperatures, also contending with dirt and dust
