The Diesel Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing diesel engines and vehicles to ensure their optimal performance and longevity. This role involves diagnosing mechanical issues, performing routine maintenance, and executing repairs in a timely and efficient manner, contributing to the overall productivity and safety of the fleet.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough inspections of diesel engines and vehicles to identify issues and determine necessary repairs.
Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, filter replacements, and system checks to maintain vehicle efficiency.
Diagnose mechanical problems using diagnostic equipment and tools, providing accurate assessments and solutions.
Execute repairs on engine components, electrical systems, and other mechanical parts to restore vehicle functionality.
Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repair work, ensuring accurate documentation for future reference.
Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with supervisors to ensure smooth operations and minimal downtime.
Stay updated on industry advancements and best practices to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards while performing all tasks and handling equipment.
Provide excellent customer service by addressing client concerns and explaining repair processes and outcomes.

Required
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Completion of a formal diesel technology or automotive program from a technical school or community college is preferred.
Required Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a diesel technician or in a similar role within the automotive industry.
Experience in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems.
Proven track record of performing routine maintenance and inspections on diesel vehicles and equipment.
Required
Skills and Abilities:
Strong understanding of diesel engine systems, including fuel injection, turbocharging, and exhaust systems.
Ability to use diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues.
Proficient in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in troubleshooting and repairing diesel engines.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to diesel engine maintenance and repair.
Physical capability to lift heavy equipment and work in various environmental conditions.
