Advanced Locate Technician

Starting pay: $21 to $32 per hour based on previous experience.

Reconn is looking for Advanced Locate Technicians who are problem solvers, take pride in public safety, and can work in a fast‑paced work environment. These are daytime, full‑time positions; overtime may be required. Training will be provided, but prior industry experience is required.

Advanced Locate Technician responsibilities include:

• Correct, safe, and efficient locating of underground utilities.
• Thoroughly searching for all underground utilities in an area.
• Properly marking the location.
• Completing necessary paperwork and documenting each locate.
• Working outdoors in all weather conditions using company‑provided laptop and smartphone.

• 1 year of utility locating experience
• Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Available to work overtime, weekends, and on‑call shifts as needed
• Ability to travel locally during the business day; some out‑of‑area or overnight travel may be expected
• Able to pass a drug screen
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
• Able to stand and walk for long periods, bend, stoop, and lift heavy items up to 75 lbs
• Able to distinguish colors used to identify wiring and marking
• Computer proficiency
• Ability to read, understand locate tickets, maps & prints; basic math skills to calculate distances
• Clear communication with colleagues, customers, contractors, homeowners; customer service experience a plus
