Freight Driver. Mansfield Move Collective

Starting Rate of Pay: $31.26/hour

Join our dedicated team as a City Freight Driver, where you'll pick up and deliver freight efficiently between Service Centers and customers while actively supporting our sales initiatives.

• Drive tractor‑trailer combinations including doubles (and triples, where applicable) and/or straight trucks.
• Conduct daily pre‑trip and safety checks on equipment to ensure safety compliance.
• Handle trailer hooks and unhooks with trailer converter dollies as needed.
• Handle freight using proper motorized and manual tools such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
• Secure freight inside the trailers using the appropriate tools and materials, ensuring safe transport.
• Repair and recoup any damaged freight as necessary.
• Complete all necessary documentation and reports accurately.
• Adhere to hazardous materials regulations and procedures.
• Collect payments as required and maintain proper documentation.
• Follow dispatch directions and communicate any delays, arrivals, or equipment issues.
• Engage with customers to assess pick‑up and delivery needs and explore additional business opportunities.
• Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
• Solicit new business from customers and forward leads to the sales team.
• May need to perform tire chaining for vehicles.
• Occasionally perform duties of road drivers or dock employees based on operational requirements.
• Comply with all relevant laws/regulations and company policies.
• Execute other tasks as required.

• Must hold a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with necessary endorsements for doubles/triples, hazardous materials, and tanks. Automatic transmission CDL restriction is acceptable.
• Minimum of one (1) year of driving experience within the last three (3) years or successful completion of Fed Ex Freight Driver Development Course.
• An acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) based on company standards is required.
• Must meet all Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). requirements as per section 391 of the Federal Motor Carrier regulations.
• Drivers operating Long Combination Vehicles (LCV) in certain states must meet LCV Qualification and Certification Minimum Standards.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical functions with or without a calculator.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are required for documentation and team interactions.
• Must be able to lift/carry freight up to 100 pounds multiple times a week.
• Able to sit for extended periods while operating a truck, and perform physical tasks such as bending, twisting, and climbing.
• Must be able to follow instructions and complete required training.
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

• Drive for extended periods on various road types and in diverse weather conditions.
• Exposure to noise, vibration, dust, and diesel fumes.
• Handling of hazardous materials must adhere to DOT regulations.
• Working hours may vary based on operational needs.
• The Hazardous Materials endorsement must be obtained within 120 days of job offer acceptance.
