Are you an accounting professional who enjoys wearing multiple hats and making an impact across both finance and HR operations? We are partnering with a growing manufacturing organization in the Mansfield area seeking an Accounting & HR Generalist to join their team. This role offers a unique opportunity to blend accounting, payroll, benefits administration, and employee support in a fast-paced environment.
WhatYou’ll Do Accounting & Finance (80-85%)
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, prepaid expenses, and account reclassifications
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Support the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and financial analysis
- Process accounts payable, manage vendor records, and coordinate payment cycles
- Perform vendor statement reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Assist with cost accounting initiatives, inventory analysis, and manufacturing order reviews
- Support physical inventory counts and inventory reconciliations
- Maintain fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, and capital project tracking
- Provide collections support, cash application assistance, and accounts receivable reconciliation
- Assist with audit preparation and various accounting and administrative projects
- Process weekly payroll and address payroll-related inquiries
- Coordinate onboarding activities, including new hire paperwork and compliance documentation
- Administer employee benefits enrollment, changes, and terminations
- Maintain employee records and HR files
- Support HR compliance initiatives, including leave tracking and reporting requirements
- Assist with additional HR projects as needed
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience
- 3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close
- Hands-on payroll processing experience
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and advanced formulas
- Experience with accounting software or ERP systems
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Manufacturing industry experience
- Cost accounting and inventory accounting experience
- Fixed asset accounting experience
- Exposure to HR onboarding and benefits administration
- CPA designation or active pursuit of certification
- Stable and growing manufacturing environment
