As a Staff Photographer & Videographer at Klein Tools, you will be responsible for creating photo and video content as part of our internal studio team. Equal parts photographer, cinematographer, retoucher and editor, this role requires a balance of strategic conceptual thinking that delivers against the brief, pre-production planning, post-production and deadline and time management. You're a passionate visual storyteller who knows that the best final outcome is only achieved by planning for every granular detail.
You understand the value of studying/testing product, location scouting, pulling scrap, crafting shot lists and storyboarding — before even thinking about gear or picking up a camera. You obsess over the consumer experience and are proactive, collaborative, persuasive and dedicated to honing your craft and building the visual future of the Klein Tools brand.
Skills
Experience in a visual storytelling creative production role — Photographer, Cinematographer, Videographer — with a skillset and competencies to execute in all three.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects under tight, concurrent deadlines.
A strong understanding of pre-production processes – site scouting, storyboarding, shot lists, reference material, etc.
A strong understanding of lighting (natural, ambient, augmented) and color – and the expertise in how to control and manipulate it.
Excellent attention to detail with organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
Proficiency in critical thinking and problem solving in the context of production limitations and hurdles.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, InDesign) and other design tools.
Experience with photography, retouching, video production, sound mix and color – and the ability to fluently provide meaningful input and contributions in these mediums.
Familiarity with Project Management ( or similar), Interface Design/Collaboration (Figma) and Digital Asset Management (Bynder or similar) tools
Strong communication and presentation abilities, with the capacity to articulate and sell strategic creative ideas effectively.
Experience managing agencies, vendors and maintaining budgets
