Job Description
Work Shift
- Monday-Thursday 5pm-9pm (16 hours a week). Contacts key personnel after hours as needed. Maintains an operational call log of all activities, requests, and issues. Cultivates accurate knowledge of hospital disaster codes and announces them efficiently according to procedure. Projects a positive and helpful demeanor while working with patients, visitors, physicians, and staff. Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Other duties as assigned. Maintains a courteous and professional manner when answering calls. Demonstrates skill and proficiency when executing overhead announcements. Forwards calls promptly to proper departments, patient rooms, or staff as necessary. Understands and responds to all codes and alarm systems. Updates and maintains all on call lists for staff when notified of changes.
- Basic understanding of numerous computer systems. [Required]
- Must be proficient in the English language. [Required]
- Ability to communicate effectively. [Required]
- Customer service skills required.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite required.
- Ability to work with attention to detail in reading, writing, and computer tasks required.
- Organizational and interpersonal skills required.
- Ability to answer calls promptly, courteously, and accurately required.
- Knowledge of basic insurance concepts preferred.
- Bi-lingual abilities preferred.
- Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions required.
- Willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays required.
- Ability and willingness to adapt to change required.
- Clear and precise speaking abilities required.
