Starting Salary: $16.59/Hour
Must be able to work a flexible schedule including morning, evening, weekends, and some holidays. This is a year‑round position averaging 20 hours per week.
ResponsibilitiesThe Recreation Attendant works at the Mansfield Activities Center (MAC) and is responsible for all reception desk duties, including communicating effectively and courteously with all patrons during general operating hours, private reservation hours, and special events. The Attendant also assists full‑time staff in planning, developing, promoting, executing, and evaluating recreational programs and special events for all ages.
- Provide patrons with program and facility information.
- Perform basic office duties such as answering phones, making copies, faxing, filing, gathering data, and light cleaning.
- Process MAC card applications, program registrations and rental requests.
- Collect fees and paperwork for MAC cards, programs, and rentals.
- Issue and monitor equipment and supplies to patrons.
- Assist with recreation programs, classes, activities, and special events, including set up, break down, and monitoring.
- Enforce and maintain MAC policies and procedures as needed.
- Process reservations for Mansfield parks, sports facilities, and the MAC.
- Assist on occasion with transporting Kids Zone participants in a 15‑passenger van, if 21 years of age or older.
- Attend monthly staff meetings and other trainings as scheduled.
- Provide a high level of customer service to all patrons.
- Perform other assigned duties as required.
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Flexible, energetic, outgoing personality.
- Self‑starter, punctual, attentive to detail, and able to work well with others and individually.
- Willing to provide a high level of customer service to all patrons.
- Reliable transportation.
- Must work a flexible schedule including morning, evening, weekends, and some holidays; this is a year‑round position averaging 20 hours per week.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Windows applications.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Valid Texas Operator's License.
- Experience with cash‑handling procedures.
- CPR certification preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish.

- Balancing on narrow, slippery, or moving surfaces.
- Stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling.
- Reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting.
- Fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, repetitive motion.
Other Physical Requirements
- Medium work: exerting up to 50 pounds occasionally, up to 30 pounds frequently, up to 10 pounds constantly.
Visual Acuity Requirements
- Ability to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment.
- Ability to determine accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of assigned work.
Environmental Conditions
- Work inside and outside, subject to environmental conditions, extreme heat, noise, and hazards such as moving mechanical parts, vehicles, electrical currents, scaffolding, high places, chemicals.
