This is a full-time, on-site position based in Mansfield, TX. The Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher will be responsible for planning and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), providing direct instruction to deaf and hard of hearing students, and collaborating with families, staff, and support personnel. The teacher will assess students' needs, modify curriculum accordingly, and deliver lessons using appropriate communication modes.
Additional responsibilities include preparing and maintaining records, monitoring student progress, and completing evaluations.
- Proficiency in Lesson Planning and ability to customize lesson plans based on IEP goals
- Strong background in Education and Teaching, with a focus on working with deaf and hard of hearing students
- Excellent Communication skills, including proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and other relevant modalities
- Experience in classroom management and Training strategies
- Ability to foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment
- State certification in Deaf Education or eligibility to obtain required certification in Texas
- Experience working with assistive technology and hearing devices is a plus
- Dedication to building positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
