The Event and Venue Attendant is responsible for overseeing The Grand View before, during, and after events to ensure operations run smoothly, safely, and in accordance with venue standards. This role requires professionalism, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to exceptional guest service. This is an event-based position, and nights and weekends are required based on the event schedule.

Key Responsibilities Pre-Event Set Up and Readiness
  • Arrive on time and prepared for scheduled shifts (often evenings/weekends).
  • Complete opening walkthroughs using venue checklists (cleanliness, lighting, restrooms, safety items, event spaces).
  • Support event setup needs as assigned (tables/chairs layout verification, room resets, signage placement, basic staging support).
  • Confirm key event details onsite (timeline, vendor arrivals, access points, restricted areas, special instructions).
  • Ensure venue policies are followed by vendors and clients (load-in/load-out procedures, approved areas, safety requirements).
During the Event Guest Experience and Operations
  • Serve as an on-site point of contact for clients, vendors, and guests—calm, professional, and solution-oriented.
  • Monitor event flow and proactively address issues (temperature, noise, lighting, restroom checks, minor spills, overcrowding).
  • Enforce venue rules and safety protocols, including capacity guidelines and restricted-access areas.
  • Respond to guest concerns quickly and elevate to management when needed.
  • Coordinate with vendors (catering, bar, entertainment, security, rentals) to keep operations aligned with the schedule.
Safety, Security and Venue Standards
  • Maintain a safe environment by identifying hazards and taking appropriate action.
  • Handle incident documentation when required (injury, property damage, rule violations).
  • Support emergency procedures (evacuation support, contacting leadership/emergency services if needed).
  • Monitor entrances/exits and general venue activity as assigned.
Role Requirements Availability and Scheduling
  • Must be available for nights, weekends, and some holidays as events require.
  • Must be reliable with punctual attendance for scheduled events.
  • Ability to stay late when event timelines shift.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills; comfortable interacting with clients and guests.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow checklists and standards consistently.
  • Able to remain calm under pressure and handle issues with discretion and professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating with event teams and vendors.
  • Basic comfort with using a phone/tablet for checklists, notes, and communication.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in event venues, hospitality, weddings, banquets, hotels, or customer-facing operations is preferred.
  • Prior experience with basic setup/breakdown, event flow, or vendor coordination is a plus.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand/walk for extended periods during events.
  • Ability to lift and move items (typically up to 25–50 lbs), including chairs, small tables, stanchions, signage, etc.
  • Ability to work in a busy environment with noise, crowds, and changing conditions.
Professional Standards
  • Maintain a polished, professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Uphold The Grand View’s policies and hospitality standards at all times.
  • Protect guest privacy and venue property; demonstrate sound judgment and integrity.
Post Event Closing
  • Assist with breakdown oversight and ensure vendors follow load-out rules.
  • Perform closing walkthroughs (trash removal coordination, restroom checks, lights/doors/thermostats, securing spaces).
  • Note damages, missing items, or unusual conditions and report promptly.
  • Ensure spaces are reset to venue standards for the next booking.
