Job Description:

Part Time, 24 hours week 7am-7pm Thursdays & Fridays, occasional Saturdays Position will move to Full Time, 36 hours/week in Fall 2026
  • Performs high-quality examinations in accordance with provider orders and departmental protocols, ensuring optimal image quality for accurate diagnosis. Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use, and that all equipment undergoes routine cleaning and safety checks.
  • Notifies appropriate personnel when inventory is low.
  • Performs and documents daily system quality control (QC) checks in compliance with departmental policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Performs mammography procedures at a technical level without constant supervision.
  • Positions patients and operates mammography equipment to obtain optimal images, adjusting technical factors and compression as needed.
  • Ensures patient identification, safety, and comfort, explaining procedures clearly and addressing questions or concerns with professionalism and compassion.
  • Follows all MQSA, FDA, JCAHO, ACR, and DSHS guidelines, including quality control testing, equipment performance checks, and documentation requirements.
  • Collaborates with radiologists and breast imaging team to ensure accurate imaging and timely communication of results or next steps.
  • Participates in patient tracking and follow-up processes, assisting with recalls, additional imaging coordination, and biopsy scheduling as required by departmental workflows.
  • Supports breast center initiatives, such as accreditation preparation, community screening events, or quality improvement activities.
  • Follows department protocols for patient identification, informed consent, and time-out procedures prior to starting exams.
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to perform various mammography procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. [Required]
  • Ability to perform Diagnostic Radiology examinations as deemed necessary [Required
  • Knowledge of communication styles and constant deployment of proper engagement behaviors when encountering patients, staff and physicians. [Required]
  • SHARE Culture training and integration. [Required]
  • LEAN training. [Preferred]
Education:
  • High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
Field of Study:
  • Successful completion of an accredited radiology program that meets the ARRT standards.
  • Successful completion of an approved MQSA training course with certification.
Work Experience:
  • 1+ years diagnostic radiology technologist [Preferred]
  • 1+ years in the field of clinical radiology [Required]
  • 2+ years mammography department setting [Preferred]
Licenses and

Certifications:
  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
  • Registered Mammographer RT(R)(M)(ARRT) [Required]
  • Texas Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) [ Required]
