Medical Assistant

Position: Medical Assistant I - FT
The Medical Assistant I is an an entry-level role focused on developing foundational clinical and administrative skills. This role supports patient care under supervision by performing basic tasks such as rooming patients, recording vital signs, and assisting with routine clinical duties. The Medical Assistant I will work collaboratively with the care team to ensure efficient and compassionate care delivery.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Rooming patients, adheres to rooming guidelines, vitals, accurately documents in the EMR, basic tests/procedures, medications and vaccines

Document patient information in the EMR accurately

Prepare exam rooms with the required equipment and supplies

Assist providers with basic examinations and procedures

Maintain exam room cleanliness and report low stock levels

Follow infection control, safety, and confidentiality protocols

Answer and route phone calls appropriately

Support appointment scheduling, patient check-in, and chart management

Perform basic clerical tasks such as filing and scanning MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma or equivalent

Completion of accredited Medical Assistant program

Certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent) is preferred or obtained within 6 months of hire Current AHA or American Red Cross BLS certification for healthcare providers with hands on component preferred or within 60 days of hire
