Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Maintenance Technician role based in Mansfield, TX. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production and facility equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation. This role supports production by minimizing downtime, optimizing equipment performance, and performing preventive and corrective maintenance across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control systems while complying with company safety and quality standards.

Duties

and Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate ability to parallel all rolls, make all required settings and adjustments for optimum equipment performance to manufacture quality products.
  • Train and assist maintenance classifications in all qualification requirements and proper maintenance procedure.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control system issues, including PLCs and A/C and D/C drives.
  • Ability to use maintenance software to document work orders, track repairs, and manage maintenance activities.
  • Plan, schedule, and prioritize maintenance work; assign work to other maintenance classifications according to their abilities and limitations.
  • Follow up all work in order to ensure repairs and work are performed properly.
  • Maximize the utilization of equipment by maintaining the machinery to run at available capacity and speed.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately and in accordance with company policies, safety rules, and housekeeping standards.
  • Work assigned hours and shifts, including overtime as required.
  • Perform building maintenance and additional duties as assigned by management.
  • Comply with all safe work practices, programs, policies, procedures and regulations with required PPE and OSHA regulations.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors as needed.
Requirements
  • Language

    Skills:

    Ability to read, interpret, and follow instructions, technical manuals, factory masters, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Mathematical

    Skills:

    Ability to read a tape measure accurately and perform basic calculations involving measurements, percentages, volume, and rates using high school–level math concepts.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense and sound judgment to carry out written, oral, or graphic instructions and to solve routine problems involving standardized variables.
  • Technical

    Skills:

    • Working knowledge of industrial equipment design, operation, and maintenance.
    • Understanding of production layouts, specifications, and quality standards.
    • Ability to diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical systems using appropriate testing and measuring instruments.
    • Proficiency in maintaining equipment in a manner that supports product quality and production requirements.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: May be required to maintain a valid Lift Truck Operator License and/or other certifications necessary to work in designated areas or on specific equipment.
  • Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear; frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

    Occasionally required to sit. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Work Environment: Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts. Frequent exposure to wet and/or humid conditions. Occasional exposure to high or precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
  • Education and/or

    Experience:

    • High school diploma or GED.
    • Successfully demonstrate all Class B qualifications.
    • Ability to provide and maintain personal tools necessary to perform maintenance tasks.
Preferred
  • Prior work experience in the carton industry.
  • Relevant experience in military or industrial electrician roles is a plus.
  • A dedicated individual with a proactive approach to maintenance and troubleshooting within an industrial environment.
