The Maintenance Technician 4 is responsible for maintaining the electrical and mechanical equipment by effectively and efficiently using the available resources to complete the task. The incumbent evaluates the unit’s operating status, performs troubleshooting of processes, and repairs equipment to maximize unit reliability and quality production. Understanding levels of downtime caused by equipment issues and associated points of cause, the incumbent maintains communication with others inside and outside their department.

- Complies with all Company policies and procedures.
- Ability to read and program Allen‑Bradley PLC’s.
- Performs repairs on controls, electrical, and mechanical equipment. Assists other mechanics in the repair of equipment.
- Helps to maintain the preventive maintenance program. Evaluates preventive maintenance schedules for all electrical and mechanical equipment and monitors the progress of weekly preventive maintenance work orders.
- Maintains records, prepares reports, and other specialized maintenance records of electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Identifies and orders/advises parts and supplies needed for shop and equipment.
- Provides training based on individual needs or as directed by Supervisor and/or job requirements.
- Determines standard operating procedures with guidance from Supervisor.
- Participates in all safety‑related programs. Conducts regular safety observations to ensure safe work practices and compliance with all regulations and policies.
- Promotes an environment that fosters positive employee relations through communication, feedback, and consistent adherence to company policies.
- Performs other duties of similar nature and scope as assigned by Supervisor.
- Minimum 5‑8 years of previous experience in an industrial maintenance role of similar capacity at an industrial manufacturing facility.
- Availability to work overtime or weekends on short notice as needed; provides on‑call service when required.
- Must possess a High School Diploma or G.E.D. at the time of application.
- Preferred: a certification/degree in at least one of the following:
- 2‑year degree in Industrial, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering
- Industrial Electricity/motor controls or a state‑issued license
- Journeyman’s Card (Electrical, Maintenance, Millwright)
- Welding certification (3G or 4G; 6G preferred)
- Fluid Power Systems (Hydraulic and Pneumatic)
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License.
- Must submit to pre‑employment screening including: employment history verification, background check, physical and drug screening.
- Must be able to read and interpret schematics, diagrams, blueprints, operation manuals, and engineering specifications, write routine correspondence, and speak English to communicate with supervisors and team members.
- Must be able to climb stairs, ladders, and work at heights of 85 ft or more and in confined spaces.
- Strong mathematics and computer skills; SAP experience preferred.
- Properly follow written and verbal operating and LOTO procedures; complete work within given deadlines.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment and problems effectively.
- Collaborate with team members.
- Maintain excellent attendance habits.
- Stand on feet up to 12 hours.
- Ability to perform without reasonable accommodation: walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, twisting, and lifting a minimum 55 lbs. or more.
- Willing and able to comply with respiratory fit testing.
- Must work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions that may include heat, cold, dust, strong odors, and loud noises with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
