Water Spider - 2nd Shift
The role of the Water Spider is to support the Parflex Mansfield Team by supplying components, supplies, tools to the production team with minimal interruption while ensuring inventory accuracy throughout the plant and warehouse.
Operate material handling equipment such as standup and sit-down forklifts, walkie-riders and material tuggers.
Keep accurate records of all materials and weigh when required
Maintain appropriate inventory documentation through computer transactions in WW3.
Stretch wrap material, if required.
Cut up scrap tube, hose as required and document transactions in WW3.
Change batteries of equipment as required.
Must use some physical effort to perform job duties.
Must maintain operator certification for material handling equipment.
Able to foster professionalism with all associates along with internal customers
Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures in a manner that eliminates risk to health and the environment. Notify leadership of unsafe conditions or practices unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk. Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to leadership immediately.
Participate in peer-based teams (i.e., Natural High Performance Teams), and work with groups to initiate and implement programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5-S.
Participate on project teams, star point teams and kaizen events when needed.
Attend and participate in all training opportunities required to develop in the role
Report directly to Value Stream Team Leader
Work closely with other departments to resolve issues with the processes & equipment
The employee may be subject to:
High noise levels from operating machines and equipment
Physical hazards from operating machines and moving reels
Exposure to nuisance fumes
Ability to meet lift requirements
Work in areas where safety equipment will be required (steel toe shoes, eye protection, hearing protection, high visibility clothing)
Standing is required for extended periods of time. Walking, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, turning, twisting, squatting, and lifting is performed on a regular basis
Requires high degree of manual dexterity, which could be performed under restrictive conditions
Requires flexible hours and short notice for overtime
The employee may be required to follow other job-related instructions and to perform other job-related duties as requested, subject to all applicable state and federal laws.
