Position Summary

The 2nd shift Senior Braider operator will operate and set up TMW‑3deck and TMW‑4deck braiders and monitor for proper product quality.

Responsibilities
  • Operate NEB, OMA, TMW 24/36 braiders and train entry‑level operators as needed.
  • Pull tooling and materials according to manufacturing specifications (springs, braid rings, tube guides, wound bobbin, core tube, etc.).
  • Inspect tooling before use and track material in WW3 system and Braider Logs.
  • Set up applicable machines per specifications (braid ring height, install tube guide, change deck/puller gear, load/unload carriers, load/unload bobbins, etc.).
  • Identify correct mandrel size, guide threading, rotate mandrel till job finishes, strip when done, and rework as needed.
  • Mark defects and new pre‑forms with the correct tape color.
  • Measure and record OD and pitch on Hose Process Chart (SPC) for all deck levels.
  • Inspect carriers and rebuild as required.
  • Perform pull test on all aerospace hoses.
  • Replace oil barrels when needed.
  • Set completed hoses to proper staging area.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area, following 5S practices.
  • Follow all safety regulations and quality guidelines.
  • Report production issues to Direct Lead.
  • Perform work of equal or lower classification.

  • Work safely per regulations, standards, and procedures, and eliminate unreasonable risk to health and the environment; report unsafe conditions or practices immediately.
  • Prevent excess waste by operating equipment efficiently.
  • Participate in peer‑based teams (e.g., Natural High Performance Teams) to implement Lean Manufacturing and 5S programs.
  • Other duties may be assigned at a later time.
Qualifications
  • Education required: High School diploma or GED
  • Experience: Production work preferred but not required

  • Standing required for extended periods; walking, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, turning, twisting, squatting, and lifting performed regularly.
  • High manual dexterity required, sometimes under restrictive conditions.
  • Flexible hours and short notice for overtime.
