Veterinary Technician – Neurology (Full‑time)

About the Role

Thrive Pet Healthcare Specialists – Mansfield is looking to add a full‑time Veterinary Technician to their team. At Thrive, you’ll feel the warmth and openness of a small clinic while having the opportunity and support of a united network.

As a Veterinary Technician you’ll play an important role in pets’ lives by providing care for our precious patients. Your life‑changing work will range from the hands‑on care of facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests to supporting services including admitting and discharging patients.

Experience & Skills Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a neurology veterinary technician.
  • CVT/LVT/RVT (preferred).
  • Available for on‑call rotation (required).
  • Self‑motivated with strong communication and interpersonal skills focused on client care.
  • Strong technical skills: anesthesia and surgical assisting, post‑operative care, CSF sample collection.
  • Experience running diagnostic imaging (MRI/CT/Radiology) and familiarity with ventilators (preferred).
  • Proficiency in assessing animals: observing behavior, obtaining vital signs, interpreting ECG, SpO₂, CO₂.
  • Comfortable with anesthetic patient monitoring of ASA I‑III (preferred experience with ASA I‑V).
  • Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities (judgment, logic, creativity, conflict resolution).
  • Ethical, diplomatic, courteous, professional.
  • Ability to obtain laboratory samples and perform basic tests (urinalysis, blood counts).
  • Comfortable utilizing digital radiography and advanced diagnostic equipment.
Role Responsibilities
  • Support veterinarians to ensure quality care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
  • Assist with surgeries and procedures per state Veterinary Practice Act for credentialed technicians.
  • Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options.
  • Maintain comprehensive medical records using practice systems.
  • Obtain relevant health history and maintain medical charts.
  • Use safe restraining techniques, follow protocols, and maintain clean, sterile treatment areas.
  • Guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.
