Responsibilities

  • Review material requirements to ensure compliance with technical specifications for cable-stayed bridge projects.
  • Validate project-specific test plans, material specifications, and transport and storage instructions.

  • Organize, monitor, and follow up on internal and external supplier audits to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Inspect material certificates and prepare documentation for handover to customers.
  • Prepare nonconformity reports and document issues in a clear and structured manner.
  • Execute incoming, in-process, and final inspections to verify product quality at each stage.
  • Log inspection results accurately in the system to maintain traceable quality records.
  • Review mill certifications to confirm product conformance to required specifications.
  • Complete Material Return Notices (MRNs) when products are returned from jobsites.
  • Establish product identity during inventory checks and when products are returned from the field.
  • Perform Pre-Production Approval (PPAP) inspections for new suppliers to qualify their products.
  • Generate Corrective Action Reports (CARs) for identified nonconformities and follow up on resolutions.
  • Notify buyers, project coordinators, and designers when parts are non-conforming and coordinate next steps.
  • Sort and segregate materials for critical deviations when there is insufficient time to return discrepant shipments.
  • Assist the Inspector with gauge and instrument calibrations to ensure measurement accuracy.

Essential Skills

  • Strong experience in quality control and quality assurance within a technical or construction-related environment.
  • Hands-on experience with troubleshooting quality issues and identifying root causes.

  • Experience with construction inspection, ideally involving structural components such as iron bars and cables.
  • Ability to review and interpret technical specifications, material certificates, and mill certifications.
  • Competence in documenting inspection results, nonconformity reports, MRNs, PPAP inspections, and CARs with high attention to detail.
  • Capability to organize and participate in internal and external supplier audits.
  • Effective communication skills for coordinating with suppliers, buyers, project coordinators, designers, and customers.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to jobsites, suppliers, or audit locations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Iron bar and cable inspection experience is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with quality processes specific to large infrastructure or bridge projects.
  • Comfort working with structured quality systems and documentation tools.
  • Ability to contribute to the development and improvement of process, work, and test instructions.
