Job Summary
We are hiring Entry‑Level Data Center Technicians to support infrastructure projects in critical data center environments. This contract‑to‑hire opportunity is open to candidates from all skilled trades backgrounds, including construction, electrical, HVAC, warehouse, mechanical, maintenance, carpentry, and other hands‑on industries. No prior cabling or data center experience is required. Technicians will receive hands‑on training, mentorship, and opportunities for long‑term career growth in the telecom and low voltage industry.
This role involves assisting with equipment installation, cable routing, material handling, and maintaining safe and organized job sites.
- Assist with cable routing, fiber rough‑in, and infrastructure installation.
- Support cable management, labeling, and job site organization.
- Assist with equipment installation, rack assembly, and hardware mounting.
- Help build and organize server racks and cabinet systems.
- Install infrastructure components such as fiber tray systems, ladder racks, and cable management systems.
- Receive, organize, and stage materials and equipment for installation projects.
- Assist with outside plant (OSP) fiber installation into data center environments.
- Read and follow blueprints, diagrams, and installation instructions.
- Communicate professionally with team members, supervisors, and customers.
- Follow all safety guidelines, PPE requirements, and job site cleanliness standards.
- Learn industry best practices through hands‑on training and mentorship.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalency.
- Open to candidates with experience in skilled trades, construction, manufacturing, warehouse, maintenance, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, or other hands‑on work environments.
- No prior cabling or data center experience required; training will be provided.
- Ability to use basic hand tools and willingness to learn technical installation work.
- OSHA 10 certification preferred but not required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in fast‑paced environments.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn new skills.
- Physical Requirement:
Must be able to work on ladders and/or scissor lifts, work in confined spaces, lift up to 50 pounds, move up to 75 pounds, and remain on feet for extended periods. - Basic tools preferred, including screwdriver set, tape measure, pliers, flashlight, work boots, gloves, and tool pouch.
