Maintenance Joiner​/Handyperson

About This Role

YMCA Robin Hood Group provides temporary housing for vulnerable adults in a network of transitional houses across Nottingham and the surrounding areas. We are looking for a Maintenance Joiner/Handyperson to join our Housing team to undertake a range of carpentry, joinery and other maintenance work for our properties.

Although based in Mansfield, you may be required to travel to other locations across the county to support other regions such as Ashfield and Worksop.

• Undertake a variety of carpentry and joinery jobs.
• Carry out repairs and general maintenance.
• Perform additional maintenance tasks, including plumbing, painting, and gardening, when required.
• Travel to other locations across the county as needed.

You have experience in a qualified trade position as a joiner or carpenter, and possibly have broader maintenance or caretaking experience in a work environment.

You hold at least a Level2 (or higher) trade qualification in joinery and/or carpentry, such as a Level2/3 Diploma in Site Carpentry, an NVQ Level2/3 in Carpentry and Joinery, or Level2/3 Bench Joinery. Additional qualifications may be provided to support your experience.

A valid driving licence is required. You will receive a fleet vehicle and all necessary tools. If you use your own vehicle for travel between homes, a travel allowance of up to £3,600 per year will be provided.

This role is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check (paid for by YMCA) and registration with the DBS Update Service.
