• Monitor contractor operations for compliance with contract plans, provisions, and specifications
• Proactively identify field issues and discuss solutions with supervisor and contractor
• Advise contractors of violations of safety procedures and recommend adjustments to bring violations into compliance
• Execute field measurements of pay items; maintain daily diaries, materials notebooks, redline as-built plans; understand progress schedules, work orders, and monthly estimates
• Oversee and document materials testing such as soil compaction, concrete and asphalt field tests
• Document all field activities and collaborate with the owner and contractor

• High school graduate or GED equivalent is required
• Associates degree in Construction Management or related field is preferred, but not required
• 6+ years of experience in construction inspection; water or wastewater facility inspection experience is preferred
• Experience with foundations, buildings, underground utilities, earthwork, asphalt and concrete
• Ability to work in a timely fashion to meet project requirements
• Effective communication with clients, coworkers, sub consultants, contractors and agency review staff
• Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications; ability to perform quantity and engineering computations
• Physically able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and terrains
• Ability to repetitively stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat and lift 50 lbs; stand for long periods of time on varied surfaces
• Driving is required; a clean driving record is required
