Building Maintenance Specialist - District Office, Maintenance Department

Maintenance Technician

Under the direction of the Supervisor of Maintenance, performs skilled and semi-skilled work in various trades in the repairing, remodeling, altering, constructing, and maintaining of District facilities; responsible for the safety, appearance, and good operating condition of District facilities. While incumbents in this classification may be specialized in one of the craft trades, they are expected to perform duties outside of specialty area.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

High School Diploma (accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education) or Equivalent EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Three (3) years responsible experience in general maintenance work.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Maintain valid California driver's license of the proper class to operate vehicles or combinations of vehicles to satisfy job requirements.
2. Maintain District-insurable driving record.
3. Recruitment may be limited to the craft specialty in which the vacancy exists.
4. Attend trainings for aerial lift, scissor lift, fork lift, safety trainings and other certification trainings as required. PRE EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENT (At Employee Cost if hired):
